Give Thanks

Thanksgiving is coming up in a couple of days, and so in preparation for that...here's a list of ten things I'm most thankful for.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a public acknowledgment or celebration of divine goodness.



1. I am thankful for salvation, which I am so underserving of

2. I am beyond thankful for my best friends, who mean the world to me

3. I am thankful for memories...most of them have the ability to cheer me up when I think of them

4. I am thankful for peanut butter...but only the crunchy kind

5. I am thankful for beauty...it's everywhere, and it always points back to the Creator

6. I am thankful for my family...yes, they're insane but I love them, and they are a large part of who I am today

7. I am thankful for random friends who live all over the country...it's neat to know that I have some who live everywhere from California, to Kansas, to New Jersey and even Canada (though I'm aware that's not in the country)

8. I am thankful for the ability to walk and dance :)

9. I am thankful for God's patience...sometimes I don't know how He puts up with me

10. I am thankful for the little things in life that mean so much.

I love this song by Lifehouse. I listened to it this weekend on the car ride home from Mississippi and just rememebered that God is in complete control of my future, which was good considering I was on my way home from a college visit/dance audition.

Found Seeking

This is from an email my mom sent me a few months ago. I first read this poem after an amazing girl at Camp Marannook gave me a copy of it this summer. Throughout the summer I had read this almost everyday...it is such an encouragement! I hadn't read it in a while until last night it fell out of my bible, so I read it once again and it was exactly what I needed to hear from the Lord last night. I'm bolding my favorite parts.

Everyone longs to give himself completely to someone, to have a deep soul relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But God to a Christian Says:

“No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled, and content with being loved by Me alone, until you give yourself totally to Me, having an intensely personal and unique relationship with me alone, discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction found. Then and only then will you be capable of the human relationship that I have planned for you.

You will never be wholly united with another until you are united with Me, exclusive of any other desires or longings. I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing- one that you cannot imagine. I want you to have the BEST!

Choose my way. You just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest and keep experiencing the satisfaction that I AM. Keep listening and learning the things I tell you. You just wait, that’s all. Don’t be anxious. Don’t look at the things you want. You just keep looking off and up to Me or you will miss what I want to show you. You see, until you are ready (and I am working even this moment to have both of you ready at the same time), until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I have prepared for you, you will not be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me and this perfect love.

My Dear One, I want you to have the most wonderful love for one another. I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me, and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty, perfection, and love that I offer you with Myself. Know that I love you completely and eternally. I am the Almighty God. Believe Me, trust Me, and be satisfied. “
